Our neighbors at the Greenmarket have been our friends in life and friends in business for more than forty years, and in the spirit of celebrating the community that saw Martin’s Pretzels through the recent bakery fire, two surgeries, and months of pandemic uncertainty, Lori and I are embarking on a new project that will bring your Martin’s favorites and new market-driven staples to your kitchen tables:
We’ve opened a store!
Union Square has been more than a place of business for us — as you may know, it’s where Lori and I met; and it’s where we got married one Friday afternoon, to the cheers of our families and a few hundred passers-by. But the limits of our logistics meant that bringing our new soft pretzels to our South Orange and Maplewood communities where we live was impossible. Our storefront changes that, and having our ovens there will allow us to have soft pretzels available for all our New Jersey friends in addition to making them available all four of our Greenmarket days.
Our local community is full of families who moved away from the city and miss having access to that market and the specialty, picked-daily produce it offers. We're so happy to have turned this idea into a reality and offer all local food, always for our friends and neighbors.
